The earrings have the shape of a Reuleaux triangle; just like the floor plan of the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
Architectural firm UNStudio founded by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos designed the building of the Mercedes-Benz Museum with its unique structure and captivating exterior. In his initial sketch, van Berkel outlined a seemingly basic geometric figure consisting of several loops turning endlessly back into themselves. The floor plan has the shape of a rounded Reuleaux triangle.
The fine Mexican gold jewelery is lovingly handcrafted in collaboration with the jewelery designer Cynthia Lopez from San Miguel de Allende, her friends from Mexico City and young people from difficult backgrounds. Each piece of jewelry is unique.
The aim of this social institution is to resocialize the young people, to grant them their right to education and training so that they can then survive independently.
The fine geometric gold ear studs are handcrafted from recycled gold. The processing of the gold and entrepreneurial knowledge are passed on to the young adults.
